PeerPass

PeerPass sets the standard for building trust in peer-to-peer marketplaces by verifying and managing online reputation. DriveMyCar uses PeerPass to provide a safe and reliable environment for their customers to interact. PeerPass is the product of over 5 years of technical development and leverages proprietary technology and industry leading identity, information and security products.

What does PeerPass do?

ID verification

PeerPass leverages industry-leading identity services to verify in real time: Australian Driver's Licences, Passports and other documents directly with Government Agencies.

Credit checks

Through PeerPass, DriveMyCar can access comprehensive credit reports on local Renters, ensuring that only those with a good credit history gain access to vehicles.

Comments and feedback

We offer the opportunity for Owners & Renters to provide feedback on their rental experiences with other community members. This helps to foster positive behaviour within the community.

Social media verification

By connecting to social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn, members of the DriveMyCar community can further verify their identity and online presence. We never post anything to your networks without your permission. Update your verifications here.

Fraud prevention

Transactions are checked against a global database of credit card activity that can automatically deny or challenge suspicious transactions.

As well as PeerPass, DriveMyCar provides you with the following benefits:

Secure online payments

DriveMyCar manages the end-to-end payment process. We collect payments from Renters via credit card and direct debit and hold a security deposit until after return of the vehicle. Rentals only proceed after an initial payment has been received.

Legally binding agreement

All rentals are subject to the DriveMyCar Renter and Owner Terms & Conditions. Owners & Renters both sign a rental agreement confirming their responsibilities and obligations.

Insurance

Normal comprehensive car insurance does not cover vehicles that are used for rental purposes so DriveMyCar has arranged an exclusive policy that provides coverage for accidental damage and theft, ensuring peace of mind for Owners and Renters. Learn more
